First Impressions

Walking into The Londoner Hotel feels like stepping through a portal — honestly, I wasn’t expecting the sheer scale of this place. The five-star property sits right in the heart of Cotai, and from the moment you enter, there’s this theatrical Victorian London atmosphere that somehow works perfectly in Macao. I mean, you’ve got Big Ben replicas and red telephone boxes, but it doesn’t feel gimmicky when you’re actually there. The lobby stretches on forever, with these intricate details that make you want to just wander around for a while before even checking in.

Location & Neighborhood

The location is absolutely unbeatable — I can see why couples rate it so highly at 9.7. You’re literally in the center of Cotai Strip, which means you can walk to pretty much everything without dealing with taxis or shuttles. The Venetian is right next door, and you’ve got direct access to some of the best shopping and dining in Macao. What I really appreciated was how easy it is to explore both the modern casino area and hop over to historic Macao Peninsula when you want that cultural contrast. The airport is maybe 10 minutes away, which honestly saved me so much stress on departure day.

The Rooms

The rooms at The Londoner Hotel are where the luxury really shows — mine had floor-to-ceiling windows with views over the Cotai Strip that were particularly stunning at night. The design keeps that London theme going but in a sophisticated way, with rich fabrics and elegant furnishings that actually feel comfortable, not just pretty to look at. The bathroom was spacious with a soaking tub, and you know what really impressed me? The blackout curtains actually worked, which is crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag and all those neon lights outside.

Dining & Breakfast

Breakfast here is something else — they’ve got this massive buffet spread that covers everything from traditional Cantonese dim sum to full English breakfast. I actually went back three times just to try different sections because there was so much variety. The Continental options were solid, but honestly, the Asian breakfast items were the standout for me. The coffee was surprisingly good too, which isn’t always a given at hotel buffets. There are multiple restaurants throughout the property, and while I didn’t try them all, the few I did visit maintained that same high standard.

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to be both a destination in itself and a perfect base for exploring Macao. The luxury touches are everywhere — from the attentive service to the thoughtful room amenities — but it never feels stuffy or pretentious. Parking is available right at the hotel, which is actually a big deal in this area if you’re planning to rent a car. The whole experience feels seamless, from check-in to checkout, and that 9.7 rating really reflects how well everything works together. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend your entire trip without feeling like you’re missing out on Macao.

  I like the dedicated team attending to me from the moment I book my room to the day I depart the hotel.

  What could be improved: Only one. One finger food during tea time was wrongly tagged. It contained ham and the tag displayed written as containing salmon. I only eat seafood. Felt very disappointed this happened.

  The staff was absolutely astonishing! They are so polite and pleasant. From door staff to check in staff to the very well dressed lift lobby personnel, they really aim to provide a good service. Our housekeeping lady was professional and gave us an accurate time as to when we can return to our rooms to refresh ourselves.

  What could be improved: It is a bit hard to control the lighting in our rooms. Master switches are only on one side of the bed or at the door. Bathroom lighting is difficult to master as there are buttons for mood lighting and general lighting. Reading lights above the bed are also a bit confusing.

  The service is super B, they upgrade me from normal suite to 2 rooms with breakfast for 4 adults 2 kids.
  Celebrating birthday, the staff purposely come to decorate our room. Breakfast until 1pm. Only stay in this hotel I got experience to have late breakfast. So O dont have to wake up so early to enjoy breakfast.

  Service was great from moment of stepping foot in Macau, got picked up with car and whisked to room. Celebrated my birthday there, delicious mango cake sent to room. And food quality was excellent at tea break, cocktails and breakfast.
  
  What could be improved: It’s an experience, but everything is like a show. It gets a bit much (too rich?) sometimes – too in your face luxe- so one day is enough.
