Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Angsana Zhuhai Hengqing – it’s one of those places that looks absolutely stunning in photos, and honestly, it mostly delivers on that promise when you actually show up. The thing is, it sits right there on Chonglou Road in a part of Hengqin that’s still figuring itself out, you know? Like, you’ve got this gorgeous resort property surrounded by construction cranes and half-finished developments, which is pretty much the story of this whole area if we’re being real about it.

What actually surprised me was how well they’ve managed to create this little bubble of tropical luxury despite all the chaos happening around the island. The moment you walk into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense of calm – they’ve nailed that Banyan Tree group aesthetic with dark woods, subtle lighting, and staff who actually seem to know what they’re doing. The rooms are genuinely spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with those deep soaking tubs that you’ll probably use more than you expect. The thing about staying here is that you’re basically getting a five-star experience at what feels like four-star prices, mainly because Hengqin isn’t quite the destination that central Zhuhai or Macau are yet.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked – the location is both the best and most frustrating thing about this place. You’re literally a ten-minute walk to the Macau border, which is incredible if you’re planning to hop back and forth, but getting anywhere else in Zhuhai proper means dealing with traffic that can be absolutely brutal during peak hours. The hotel does run a shuttle to some of the main attractions, but honestly, you’ll want to factor in extra time for everything. That said, if you’re the type who likes to use the hotel as your base and really settle in, it works beautifully. The pool area is where this place really shines – it’s got that resort vibe that’s hard to find in this part of China, and even when it’s busy, it doesn’t feel cramped. The spa is solid too, though I’d recommend booking treatments in advance because they fill up quickly, especially on weekends. One small thing that bugged me – the WiFi can be spotty in some of the rooms, which feels silly to complain about but matters when you’re trying to get work done. Overall though, if you’re looking for a proper resort experience while staying close to Macau, and you don’t mind being in an area that’s still developing its personality, this place hits the mark more often than not.

  因为是春节去的，还有非常丰富的春节活动，大年初一酒店领导们在门口还非常热情的跟住户们说新年好，能看得出来酒店是在非常用心运营的。
