The bathrooms are ridiculously nice (I mean, the shower alone is worth talking about), and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was, even though you’re basically in the middle of Cotai’s entertainment district. You’d think with all the construction and development happening around there, you’d hear something, but the soundproofing is solid. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, none of that awkward standing around while they figure out your reservation.
Here’s the thing about staying in Cotai versus the peninsula – you’re getting the best of both worlds. The hotel’s positioned so you can easily hop over to the older parts of Macau if you want that authentic Portuguese colonial vibe, but you’re also right where all the newer action is happening. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’ve been there; it’s not perfect (the elevators can be a bit slow during peak times, and parking fills up quickly on weekends), but those are minor complaints. What really sells it is that it feels like a place where locals would actually want to hang out, not just tourists passing through. The restaurant scene in the hotel is legit, and the bar doesn’t feel like some sterile hotel lounge – it’s got character. If you’re planning to visit during one of the major holidays or festivals, book way ahead because this place fills up fast, and honestly, I can see why.
