Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Macau, but Studio City’s Epic Tower honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. When you first pull up to this place on Estrada do Istmo, you’re hit with this massive complex that’s part theme park, part luxury hotel – and I mean that in a good way. The whole Studio City development is sort of like Vegas met Hollywood and decided to set up shop in Cotai, but somehow it works without feeling completely over the top.

What really gets me about the Epic Tower specifically is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between excitement and actual comfort. You know how some themed hotels make you feel like you’re sleeping inside a attraction? Well, this doesn’t do that. The rooms are genuinely sophisticated – think modern lines, rich fabrics, and these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you incredible views of either the South China Sea or the Cotai Strip (honestly, both are pretty spectacular, especially at night when everything lights up). The bathrooms are spacious with separate soaking tubs, which is actually a big deal after you’ve spent the day walking around Macau’s casinos and attractions. And here’s something most people don’t mention – the soundproofing is excellent. Despite being right in the heart of all the action, you can actually get a good night’s sleep.

The location is really what makes this place shine, though. You’re literally connected to the rest of Studio City, so you can wander down to catch a show or grab dinner without dealing with Macau’s traffic (which can be brutal, especially on weekends). But here’s the thing – you’re also perfectly positioned for everything else Cotai has to offer. The Venetian is a quick walk away, City of Dreams is right there, and if you want to head to the peninsula for some traditional Macanese food, the hotel’s location near the bridge connections makes it pretty straightforward. I actually found myself using this as a home base for exploring, since parking here is way easier than trying to navigate some of the older properties. The staff genuinely knows the area too – not just the touristy stuff, but they can point you toward decent local spots if you ask. Check-in was smooth, none of that endless waiting around that you sometimes get at the mega-resorts, and they actually remember you after a day or two, which is nice when you’re staying for more than just a quick weekend.

  It’s very new and as a separate tower from the main tower, it’s more intimate. Never had a queue at the check in desk and concierge even during peak LNY holidays. Staff were helpful and very responsive over booking.com messaging, and put in amenities like a tent, mustela set and a football for my son. Even had slippers and bathroom for 2 yo and did a bit of child proofing. The property is also connected to the new light rail so made travelling around certain places a bit more convenient.

  Very friendly and exceedingly helpful staff. Special thanks to front desk staff Daniel Kwan who went out of his way to assist us in getting to the border in time for our return to Hong Kong. The restaurant servers were also very attentive. Food at breakfast is hand-down the best I have ever had at any 5-star hotels around the world!
