You know what really struck me about the Sheraton Zhuhai? It’s one of those hotels that actually gets the location thing right – and I mean really right, not just “conveniently located” marketing speak. Sitting on Yin Wan Road in the Wanzai area, it’s got this sweet spot thing going where you’re close enough to Chimelong (honestly, about 15 minutes by car, though their free shuttle makes it even easier) but far enough away that you’re not dealing with theme park chaos when you just want to chill.

The building itself has that solid Sheraton feel – you walk into the lobby and there’s this immediate sense of space and calm that I’ve come to expect from the brand, but with touches that feel distinctly Zhuhai. The staff here actually seem to know the area well, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many five-star places have front desk people who can’t tell you where to grab decent dim sum nearby. What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole Chimelong shuttle situation – it’s not just a afterthought service, they’ve clearly thought through the logistics since so many guests are here for the parks. The rooms themselves are spacious (and I mean genuinely spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with those floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of whatever view you end up with. I stayed on a higher floor facing the city side, and honestly, Zhuhai’s skyline is more interesting than I expected, especially in the evening when everything lights up.

Here’s the thing about this place that you won’t get from just looking at photos – it’s got this relaxed energy that works whether you’re here with kids doing the Chimelong thing or if you’re in town for business. The pool area doesn’t feel like an afterthought, and there’s actually decent space to spread out, which matters when you’re trying to decompress after a day at theme parks. The restaurant situation is solid too – not groundbreaking, but the kind of reliable good that you want when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night. I mean, the breakfast spread alone justifies getting up at a reasonable hour, and their take on both Western and Cantonese options shows they understand their guest mix. Location-wise, you’re also pretty well-positioned for exploring Zhuhai proper if that’s on your agenda – the Gongbei area isn’t far, and if you’re thinking about popping over to Macau, the border crossing is totally doable. That 8.9 rating makes sense to me; it’s the kind of place that doesn’t try to be flashy but just delivers on what matters most when you’re traveling.

  It was located right next to the concert hall where I was performing so it was very convenient. The staff were attentive and the food at all outlets were great. I ate at the Chinese restaurant and the char siew was exceptional. We had Omakase and the staff were very accomodating for our late night dining and dietary restrictions.
