Macau Hotel S – Formerly – Macau Hotel Sun Sun Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Macau Hotel S – Formerly – Macau Hotel Sun Sun on Praca Ponte E Horta, you immediately get that authentic Macau vibe — it’s tucked right into one of those charming Portuguese-influenced squares that make this city so unique. The building itself has that unpretentious, local feel that honestly makes it more appealing than some of the flashier places nearby. You know what strikes me most? It’s how the hotel sits so naturally in the neighborhood, like it’s been part of the community forever rather than just dropped in for tourists.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about this spot — couples absolutely love it here, and I can see why they’re rating the location a solid 9.4. You’re literally in the heart of historic Macau, where you can actually walk to most of the major sights without dealing with taxis or buses every single time. The Senate Square is just a few minutes away, and honestly, being able to stroll back to your hotel after exploring those winding cobblestone streets feels pretty perfect. I mean, when recent guests are giving the location a 9.3 rating, that tells you something real about how well-positioned this place is.
The Room Experience
For a three-star property, the room setup surprised me in the best way. Everything’s clean and functional — not fancy, but you’ve got what you need without any of that cramped feeling you sometimes get in older Macau buildings. The air conditioning works well (crucial in this climate), and the beds are actually comfortable enough that you’ll sleep soundly after a day of wandering around the city. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right in the middle of everything.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here feel relaxed in a way that bigger hotels just can’t match. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and they’re quick with local recommendations that actually make sense. You’ll find yourself chatting with other travelers in the lobby — there’s something about smaller places that brings people together naturally. The whole atmosphere is sort of laid-back but efficient, which honestly matches Macau’s overall personality pretty well.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t an upscale resort, and it doesn’t pretend to be one. What it offers is something arguably better — a genuine base in one of Macau’s most walkable neighborhoods, run by people who know what travelers actually need. The 8.4 guest rating reflects exactly what you get: solid comfort, unbeatable location, and that rare feeling of staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend to their friends. If you want to experience Macau like someone who lives here rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.
To book hotel in Macau for Grand Prix weekend, travelers reserve harborfront suites to balance race circuit thrills with skyline light shows.

One of the best features is that they offer luggage storage both before and after check-in, which was very convenient.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and provided excellent service, especially Faly and Susie, who made me feel very welcome and well taken care of during my stay.
