You know what struck me first about Hotel Lisboa? It’s this massive, gleaming presence right on Avenida de Lisboa that somehow manages to feel both grand and welcoming at the same time. I mean, you can’t miss it – the place practically announces itself to the whole neighborhood, but in a good way. The lobby hits you with this old-school luxury vibe, marble everywhere and staff who actually seem happy to see you (which honestly isn’t always a given in Macau’s bigger hotels).

What really sets this place apart though is how it sits right in the heart of everything without being totally chaotic. You’re literally steps from the Senado Square area – I could walk to those famous Portuguese egg tart shops in about three minutes, and the historic center is right there when you want to wander around those narrow cobblestone streets. The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a proper 5-star setup, though I have to say the ones facing the avenue can get a bit noisy during the day with all the traffic. Ask for something higher up if you’re a light sleeper – the city views from the upper floors are actually pretty spectacular, especially at night when all the casino lights start doing their thing.

The service is what really bumped this place up in my book. Check-in was smooth (they had my room ready even though I arrived early), and the concierge team actually knows their stuff about getting around the city. They helped me figure out the bus routes to Coloane – saved me a fortune on taxi fares. The restaurant situation is solid too, though honestly, with all the incredible street food and local spots within walking distance, I barely used room service. One thing I appreciated was how quiet the place gets at night despite being in such a central location. The building itself seems to block out most of the street noise once you’re settled in. It’s got that perfect balance where you feel connected to the energy of Macau but can actually get some rest. For the price point and that 8.3 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – comfortable luxury in the middle of one of Asia’s most interesting cities.

  Good facilities, good location for walking distance to the old city and for transport , really nice and helpful staff. We stayed in room 7059 and then again in 7018. 7059 was spotless and clean but 7018 the bathroom was not as clean.

  The location was excellent and of course iconic. Easy to travel and see the historical parts of Macau and some of the casinos. You can a free shuttle to other parts of the city.

  Great service from all the staff from Housekeeping to the Bell staff. They made me feel like a VIP.
  I liked the attention to small details like the monogramed towels and complimentary drinks in the room.
  The location was ideal, within walking distance to many attractions in central Macao. There was also a bus exchange across the street where you could catch a bus to to other areas such as the Cotai Strip.
  Free shuttle bus to and from the outer harbour ferry terminal.
